One More Reason to Visit Ravna Planina by Bike
Ravna Planina Ski Center is pleased to announce that bike transport on the gondola is now completely free of charge for all visitors.
This new benefit has been introduced to further support cycling tourism and promote the newly established Sarajevo – Pale – Ravna Planina cycling route, which has already attracted significant interest from cyclists, families, outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Visitors can now bring their bicycles on the gondola at no additional cost and enjoy the mountain scenery, panoramic viewpoints, forest trails and numerous attractions that Ravna Planina has to offer.
Sarajevo – Pale – Ravna Planina Cycling Route
The new cycling route connects Sarajevo, Pale and Ravna Planina by following the historic narrow-gauge railway corridor. The trail passes through impressive tunnels, over bridges and through untouched natural landscapes, offering a unique riding experience rarely found in this part of Europe.
The route is suitable for cyclists of all ages, as well as hikers who wish to explore the area’s natural beauty, history and spectacular scenery. Gentle gradients and attractive surroundings make it an ideal destination for family outings, recreation and active holidays.
The Gondola as Part of the Adventure
Upon arriving at Ravna Planina, visitors can use the gondola for a comfortable ascent while transporting their bicycles completely free of charge.
From the upper station, cyclists gain access to a wide range of mountain routes, scenic viewpoints and outdoor experiences that make Ravna Planina one of the most attractive active tourism destinations in the region.
The free bike transport initiative represents another step toward creating a year-round outdoor destination that combines cycling, hiking, nature and adventure tourism.
Ravna Planina and Jahorina – One Connected Outdoor Destination
In addition to the development of the Sarajevo – Pale – Ravna Planina cycling route, work is currently underway on improved marking and signage of existing mountain and recreational trails connecting the upper gondola station with Jahorina.
The goal is to create a comprehensive network of cycling and hiking routes linking Sarajevo, Pale, Ravna Planina and Jahorina into one integrated outdoor destination.
Once completed, visitors will be able to enjoy a continuous system of marked trails through some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
